Thank you for visiting the official website of the Code 3 for a Cure (C3FAC) Foundation.
The C3FAC team will be in attendance at Fire Rescue South Carolina 2015. Our booth, #HF8, will be set up June 11, 12, and 13. Those attending this year’s Conference will have an opportunity to meet Miss South Carolina USA, Sarah Weishuhn, who has joined the C3FAC cause. Miss South Carolina will be at our booth at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, and will be manning it alongside other firefighter warriors, including Captain Brock Terry of the Hampton Fire Department. Captain Terry will present Ms. Weishuhn with the C3FAC Fire Helmet of Hope & Honor that she will autograph in support of C3FAC. She will also help us launch a special fundraising campaign which will be a first for C3FAC. There will be many C3FAC items available for purchase, such as T-Shirts and Dog Tags, to raise funds for our cause. The C3FAC team will also be recruiting firefighter athletes to join us in our efforts to fight the war on firefighter cancer.
One C3FAC Athletic Warrior in particular, Fire Lieutenant Brendan Corcoran (New Jersey), achieved a great success last month by shattering the Guinness World Record for fastest mile in firefighter gear. He dedicated this noteworthy achievement to raising funds for C3FAC, and we thank Brendan and all who donated in recognition of his efforts. Brendan joins other C3FAC athletic warriors who have also made remarkable efforts and had great successes in raising funds and representing C3FAC through their athletic achievements, including Fire Lieutenant Jake Sinkiewicz, Firefighter Alex Murray (South Carolina), Julie Gennarino (Physicians Assistant, Florida), and Firefighter Jamie Champion (Georgia). We are grateful to each of these warriors, as well as others, and all who have donated to C3FAC in their honor.
I would like to bring to your attention the Mo Hawk Less Cancer Motorcycle Ride and After Party, which will be held on Saturday, September 12 at Jesse Oaks in Gages Lake, Illinois. This event, which grows in popularity each year, is held in loving memory of Firefighter/Paramedic Kevin Oldham. You can read one of the news pieces about Kevin's valiant efforts to help save his fellow firefighters from cancer, even as he was suffering himself.
On October 24, the Hampton Fire Department will conduct its Third Annual Hometown Heroes 5k benefit. For the second consecutive year, it will be a charity fundraiser for C3FAC. We invite you all to come out to Hampton, South Carolina to enjoy some great camaraderie and fun.
On behalf of myself, the C3FAC Board of Directors, and our entire team, we wish you a safe and enjoyable summer.
