Hoses and Heroes Fire Expo imageWelcome to the official website of the Code 3 for a Cure Foundation (C3FAC). As a matter of information, C3FAC is a centralized, nonprofit 501(c)3 public charity located in California and does not recognize, nor does it endorse, any chapters or affiliates.

I want to thank all of you who came out to the first ever C3FAC Hoses & Heroes Fire Expo and Benefit Concert that was held on October 18. We owe a debt of gratitude to Harrah's Resort Southern California for joining forces with us in our efforts to fight the war against firefighter cancer by putting this incredible event together. We also thank the Rincon Fire Department and all involved in making this event happen. The concert was a hit, with The Super Freaks opening up the night, followed by the world famous Village People, who delivered a superb and energetic performance beyond our expectations.

Mo-Hawk Less Cancer photoThe Mo-Hawk Less Cancer Motorcycle Ride and Jam, which is held every year in honor and memory of Firefighter/Paramedic and C3FAC team member Kevin Oldham (Waukegan Fire Department, Illinois), took place on September 6. This year's event resulted in a contribution of over $14,000, and we cannot adequately express our gratitude to Theresa and Dan Oldham and family and all involved for the tremendous work they did in organizing this year's event. We are also grateful to all the motorcycle riders and other participants who came out in support, and especially to the staff at Jesse Oaks, who gave tremendously in hosting the event again this year at their perfect venue.

Hampton's Hometown Heroes photoOn October 25, the Hampton Fire Department (South Carolina) hosted the Hampton's Hometown Heroes Charity 5k Run/Walk for C3FAC. Thanks to Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus, we were able to take the C3FAC fire engine to the event, on which was displayed the Memorial Fire Bell that is carried across the country during our Annual Mission of Hope and Honor. (Our next Mission will take place in summer 2015). C3FAC Public Affairs Officer Peggy Abundiz competed in the 5k. It was a humbling experience for us to be in such a positive atmosphere, to experience so much down-home southern hospitality, and to meet so many warm-hearted people who have now become a part of the C3FAC family. Special thanks to Fire Chief Lewis Ramsey, Chief Tommy Smith, Captain Brock Terry and his wife Chrissy, the Hampton Firefighters, the sponsors, the participants, and the many involved in making this event happen, which resulted in a contribution of $3,100 to C3FAC. It was also great to meet Firefighter Jordan Eaddy and his wife Kaila, and to congratulate him in person for conquering cancer. He is a true Warrior. The C3FAC fire engine was escorted in to the event location by FF Eaddy.

Fallbrook Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament photoAnother event of great support to C3FAC was the Fallbrook Firefighters Charity Golf Tournament (California), which took place on August 27. The event resulted in a contribution of $2,000 to C3FAC, and we thank FF Joel Hammer and all involved in organizing and supporting the event.

We are also pleased to announce the support of the Anniston Fire Department in Alabama, who will be dedicating their Mo-vember event to C3FAC.

As you can see at the top of this page, C3FAC now has a professional video documentary which summarizes the story behind our cause. I want to thank Jon Sautter and SOI MEDIA for the incredible job they did in developing the video, as well as Harrah's Resort Southern California, without whom this would not have been possible.

As we enter this season of thanks, I count the many blessings being bestowed on this organization as we work to continue fighting the war on firefighter cancer. I want to thank our sponsors, in particular Harrah's Resort Southern California, Brindlee Mountain Fire Apparatus, and Phenix Fire Helmets for their amazing support. I want to thank our entire Board of Directors for their outstanding commitment in volunteering their time to help ensure that the Code 3 for a Cure Foundation continues on its path of healthy, well-planned growth. I want to also thank all the firefighters and citizens alike who have become athletic warriors for the cause, as well as all the donors who have contributed and all who have purchased items from our online store. It is because of you that C3FAC has been able to continue on its mission, and we are forever grateful.

Wishing you all a blessed Thanksgiving filled with good health and peace--and pumpkin rolls. To those of you who are currently battling cancer, our prayers of strength and healing go out to you.
